I worked with Joe in the early 2000's through Military Sales and Services. I remember the first time he came to Dallas to meet with me, and the first thing he wanted to do was get a Jack In The Box meal and one of those Jack car antenna balls. We stopped as we left the airport and he couldn't wait to put it on his newly renovated vintage Mustang. Bob was a really great guy and he is deeply missed.

I worked with Bob many years ago at Huffy, as I read through other friends writing about Bob the common thoughts I see is his heart-warming smile, his kindness and his thoughtfulness of others and I agree. If I was down Bob would make attempts to cheer with a silly joke and his big smile. A memory I have of Bob is he would often stop at Tim Hortons and bring the gang Tim Bits! I picture Bob and Bill Smith in heaven with their Tim Bits and chocolate chip cookies - the goodies they were known for; two wonderful people gone too soon!
Bob will be in our hearts forever,

I am saddened by the passing of my dear Huffy work friend, Bob Stomel. We chatted almost daily covering a wide variety of subjects from work, bikes, people etc. My most recent prayer was that Bob would be able to celebrate his 60th birthday (June) . That did not happen - he will be missed !!

I always remember Bob for whenever he would pick me up at the airport, his car was always spotless & impeccable. Bob too was a man of impeccable character, a rare account manager who understood not only the marketplace but the specific needs of his customers. They broke the mold when they made Bob. Truly an unique, humble and gregarious human being. RIP Bob.

Bob had a profound impact on my life. His presence and personality made working in the bicycle industry seem like it could be a real profession.
As a young 17 yr old seeing Bob in his 20´s making a difference and doing what he loved drove me to know there was more to tuning derailleurs in my future.
I hold 3 people at the top of my list of people who influenced me in my career. Bob is one of those 3.
I may not have expressed it but he absolutely influenced the course of my life.
Thank you for being a North Star of what could become by spreading the joy of riding a bicycle.
May your memory be a blessing to your family I know it will be for me

I am so saddened to hear of Bob's passing. He was such a wonderful friend to me in my time at Huffy. His laughter was contagious and that smile was beyond heart warming. You will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved you. Sincerest condolences to Susan and the boys.

Everytine i saw him at Interbike or another industry trade show we would always talk about the past and the present.. He will be missed.. Prayers for the family on Bobs passing..

A smile says a lot, often more than words. It´s hard to think of Bob without seeing that smile he wore; you know the one. I´m reminded that in death, just like in life that his smile, that sense of humor, that wit, and that care doesn´t go away. While Bob´s physical experience is at end, he in spirit is not. Far from it. As humans living this physical experience, we are subject to emotions, including heartbreak. We hurt because we dare to love. And for those left behind, we will heal for the very same reason. We were all fortunate to share a path with Bob at some point in our lives, and for some period of time. We call that being blessed. I appreciate my time with Bob, and how he attempted to help me discover just who made the best cheesesteak in Philadelphia when we would travel together. It´s not the order you write, it´s the relationship you make along your way that counts. That´s success in my book. A ton of love to your family as they heal, and much love to you Bob, we will see you on the other side, somewhere further down the road.

Bob was such a wonderful neighbor to us these past 5 years... even in sickness, he helped us in a time of need during a snowstorm before the holidays when Chris had broken his leg. We will always remember his kindness and neighborly watchful eye to keep us all safe. We send our sincerest condolences - he will be missed. We promise to continue his neighborly legacy for Susan and the boys. - The Ambrose Family
