Ashley Wiles Obituary

Ashley Gilliam Wiles, Jr., age 82, resident of Memphis, Tennessee and husband of Bonnie Wiles, departed this life Saturday morning, December 2, 2023 at his home.

Ashley was born July 8, 1941 in Laconia, Tennessee, the son of the late Ashley Gilliam Wiles, Sr. and Mable Elizabeth Sealand Wiles. He graduated from Fayette County High School and was drafted to the United States Army, then remained with the Tennessee National Guard. Ashley was a member of Mt. Carmel Presbyterian Church and was married December 23, 1959 to Bonnie Wiles. He loved being with his wife, who was his world.

Mr. Wiles is survived by his wife, Bonnie Wiles; his son, Van Wiles (Danielle); two daughters, Dina Weatherford and Valerie Wiles; two brothers, James Wiles (Cheryl) and Harry Wiles (Janice); two grandsons, Adam Finn (Julia) and David Finn (Ashley); and four great-grandchildren, Sarah Finn, Andrew Finn, Lily Finn and Aiden Finn.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Ramell Gray.

A visitation for Mr. Wiles will be from 12 to 1 P.M. Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 1 P.M. Friday, December 8, 2023 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bo Fletchall officiating. Interment will follow in Union Cemetery (formerly Mt. Carmel Cemetery) at Laconia.

Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Adam Finn, Andrew Finn, David Finn, Joshua Wiles and Dale Gray.
