Lebanon, NH - John L. Dayton, Jr. died unexpectedly in Merrimack, NH on December 28, 2023 at the age of 79.
John was born on March 15, 1944 in New London, NH to Pauline Russell Dayton and John L. Dayton.
John graduated from New London High School in 1962 with a Major in Mathematics.
He then enlisted in the Navy and was based in Navcommsta Norfolk, VA where he earned four medals of Honor-Navy Achievement Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Left at rank of NTC FOR ET3.
John went on to have his own Electronics repair and installation business and then was Co-owner of Sight and Sound Electronics in West Lebanon, NH. He then worked at Fujifilm, Dimatix, Inc., Spectra Printing Division.
John's children remember him as a kind and supportive father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.
He was an individual who loved music and was passionate about technology and how things worked. He loved space and the weather.
John is predeceased by Hallie L. Snow, Christopher R. Snow, Robert Dayton, and Donna L. Dayton.
Surviving family members include William Dayton, Roger Dayton, Ann L. Snow, Rylee Trybulski, Wendy Kimura, Bill Kimura, Briana Kimura and Shauna Kimura; seven great-grandchildren and two nieces; one grandniece and two grandnephews.
There will be a private Ceremony in May.

I’m so sorry for John’s passing. He hired me at Fujifilm, and I worked under him for a number of years. He was a very smart and nice man to work with. My heart goes out to all your family John, you were very special.

I send my deepest sympathy to John's family. I worked with him at Fujifilm, he on the "hard" side building/wiring the Merlin printer enclosures, I on the "soft" side programming them. He always had a smile on his face and was a joy to work with. I will always remember him fondly.

I was so sorry to hear of John's passing. I worked with him at Fujifilm, Dimatix for alot of years and was blessed to have worked along side him and had many wonderful, insightful conversations. What an amazing, bright man- who knew so much about so many things. Rest in peace my friend-
