Thelma Manson Obituary
Born April 10, 1926 in Northampton MA, she lived in Florence most of her life.
Thelma was predecesed by her parents, Walter and Gertrude (Newberry) Phelps, brothers, Walter and Robert Phelps, and son, David "Emma" Manson.
She leaves her sister , Virginia "Tink" Hendee, 102 , daughter Deb (Ross) Guscette, son Daniel (Jennifer) Manson, daughter Melinda (David) Melycher, daughter-in-law Holly (Ziegler) Manson, 9 grand children, 9 great-grand children, and several nieces and nephews.
Thelma worked as a hairdresser, a factory worker, a card shop owner, and retired from the NSH kitchen in Northampton.
In her earlier, years she loved candlepin bowling. Her team was Murduffs Jewelers, they often finished in first place. Her hands were always busy, refinishing furniture, gardening, rug making, sewing, quilting, and knitting. Knitting was her expertise! Countless sweaters, hats, mittens, scarves, afghans, slippers, dolls and other items. She made hats for newborns at CDH, scarves for fund raisers, and volunteered at the Hospice shop. She enjoyed bingo night, card night and cribbage with friends. She had just recently stopped climbing trees.
She will be missed. She was one of a kind.

& families - What a rich and full life your mom had.

To all of Thelma's family. Your Mom was a wonderful friend to our family all my life. She was always there for our family. She will certainly be missed, she was definitely one of a kind. Prayers for you all.
