I grieve (along with her family) the passing of my best friend Ruth E Brown....an amazing woman. We worked together at the former Speedway Corporate office in Enon, OH and took turns every other week driving into work. We had many harrowing drives from Mechanicsburg, OH down Route 4 into Springfield/Enon as well as Route 68 from Urbana, OH during some pretty bad weather, which we happily survived to talk about. LOL.
We decided to become "Ohio Sisters," since she didn´t have one and mine was far away in Illinois. We also had lots of fun over the 20+ years we worked together at Speedway.
We kept in touch through our retirements as well as when Mike & I moved to Arizona. Whenever we were back in Ohio, we´d always get together & catch up. We continued phoning each to/from AZ several times a month up until the time she was hospitalized.
I´m a better person because of her being in my life. I´m blessed & grateful for her and our friendship. I loved her very much and my memories of her will stay in my heart forever.
She was the most special, kind, & gentle lady, always staying positive in spite of whatever came her way. Her disabilities continued to take their toll, but she remained positive, staying upbeat, never giving up...even proudly earning her college degree online from her living room. She was always cheerful and more concerned about lifting up others instead of herself. She loved the Lord and is now one of his angels. Rest in Peace Ruthie, my dear "Ohio Sister," You certainly deserve it.

I had the great pleasure of working with Ruth at Speedway for a short while, but she definitely left a lasting impression. She always had a smile on her face and a kind word. She was always so positive even when she might be having a bad day. My condolences to her family and friends. She was a very special lady.

Ruth was always a cheerful addition to my day during her years at Speedway. I still have the book she wrote to remind me of her often. She certainly lived life to the fullest!
