George Thomas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stark Memorial Funeral Home and Cremation Services on Feb. 3, 2026.
SALEM-George C. Thomas, a cherished brother, uncle, and friend, passed away unexpectedly at his home, at the age of 67, on January 30, 2026.
Born in Salem, Ohio, on March 16, 1958, he was a son of the late George and Mary (Kicko) Thomas.
A Salem High School alumnus, George's work ethic and expertise as a journeyman electrician were evident as he dedicated his talents and skill to American Standard for more three decades.
George's passion extended beyond his vocation. He was an aficionado of classic cars, dedicating countless hours to the restoration of his four beloved Corvettes.
George reveled in being an uncle, a role he took to heart with joy and enthusiasm. His nieces and great-nieces were the recipients of his generous spirit and love, and his visits were eagerly anticipated, as they often included his signature delivery of donuts-a sweet treat that became a loving tradition.
George loved to laugh as much as he loved making others laugh, often with his playful teasing and quick wit. His laughter was infectious, and his presence was a source of comfort and happiness to his family and friends. George's generosity knew no bounds, and his willingness to help others and good advice will be missed by many.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness and fond memories that will be remembered by his sister, Mary Frances (Roy) Brown of Salem; his brothers, Dave Thomas of Salineville and Martin (Chris) Thomas of Ypsilanti, Michigan; and his adored nieces and great-nieces.
Family and friends will be received from noon until 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 6, 2026, at the Stark Memorial Funeral Home, 1014 E. State St., Salem, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Grandview Cemetery.
