Terry Davis Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Feb. 4, 2026.
Terry Lee Davis, 79, passed away on January 20th, 2026, while surrounded by his loved ones.

Terry was born on July 31st, 1946 in Salem, Ohio to his now deceased parents Lewis and Thelma Davis. Terry is also preceded in death by his sister Robin.

Terry is survived by his wife Jacqueline (Jackie) Davis. Terry and Jackie married as high school sweat-hearts on February 6th, 1966 and they were to have celebrated 60 years of love and companionship this year. Terry is also survived by his precious two children, Karen Jelenick and David Davis and David's wife Thu, Terry's much loved daughter-in-law, along with Terry's five grand-children Rebecca, Chelsea, Jeremy, Dan and Austin and two great-grandchildren

In 1967 Terry graduated from the American Institute of Technology with honors in computer technology. His work career began with Globe Exploration in Midland, TX as a computer operator. He was then hired by General Electric Phoenix, AZ in 1968 as a computer operator and programmer. Throughout his career he was then employed with Honeywell LISD, ITT Courier, Touch Technology Inc., Clarity Security, SmartCash and Mobil Authentication Corp. Through the years his knowledge and expertise advanced him to notable positions as Chief Technology Officer for companies mastering in on-line authentication.

Terry enjoyed camping and fishing with his wife Jackie and their two children Karen and David. He also obtained his pilot's license to fly small planes and experienced several exciting and invigorating flight events; however his passion was always for cars. He enjoyed building and racing his collection of two original Carroll Shelby GT350's, his Abarth Fiat 600D, his Lotus Formula Ford and finally his 1961 Ford Starliner. Terry with Jackie at his side, worked on all their cars together and they both raced them at many events. In retirement from racing, they both enjoyed attending car shows with their 1961 Ford Starliner.

In retirement, Terry and Jackie enjoyed their residence in Scottsdale, AZ. Terry's pride and joy was his 13 year old Malti-poo dog named Lucy. She and Terry were inseparable and she misses him terribly.

Terry will be missed immensely by his wife Jackie of 60 years, his children Karen and David and Thu, his grand-children Rebecca (her "PaPa" and father figure in her life), and Jeremy, Dan and Austin ("Grand-Pa" always a friend).

He will also be missed by his dear and longtime friend Bob Schortmann who spent many years working on and enjoying their car collections and by his brother-in-law George (Chip) Hueg working on his 1972 Ford Bronco.

Good bye for now Terry! You will be missed by many!

Until we all meet again…..
