George Everett Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Feb. 2, 2026.
George Raymond Everett passed away on January 28, 2026, after 70 years marked by service, adventure, and devotion to family. Born in South Carolina but from Pennsylvania, Ray-as friends knew him, and "Butch" to his Pennsylvania family-joined the United States Air Force in 1973, beginning a military career that took him around the world and shaped his lifelong curiosity and resilience.

While stationed in Taiwan, Ray met his first wife, Felice. Together they welcomed their daughter, Christine, in the Philippines, and later their son, Nathan, in San Antonio. The family later lived in Berlin, where they traveled extensively throughout Europe and witnessed the fall of the Berlin Wall before returning to the United States in 1993.

After retiring from the Air Force, Ray built a successful career in information technology, ultimately serving as Chief Information Officer of the Arizona Compensation Fund. He embraced life in Arizona-especially hunting and fishing-and was known for his steady presence, generosity, and willingness to help others, whether mentoring younger family members or serving as the ever-reliable "Mr. Fix-It."

Ray endured profound loss with grace, remaining devoted to Felice throughout her battle with cancer until her passing in 2016. In time, he found love again and married Xiaomei Zhu. He later faced the heartbreaking loss of his son Nathan in 2023, even as Ray confronted his own cancer diagnosis.

Ray will be remembered for his quiet strength, wisdom, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy of service and kindness lives on in all who knew him.

Ray is survived by his wife, Xiaomei; his daughter, Christine, and her husband, Tony; his brothers, Leroy and Chad; his sister, Raylene; his father, Raymond; and his stepmother, Irene. He was preceded in death by his wife, Felice; his son, Nathan; his brother, Ralph; and his mother Alice Boney Amentler.

Memorial services will be held at 10am on Monday February 9th, 2026 at Hansen Desert Hills, 6500 E. Bell Rd Scottsdale.
