Ruth Weiss Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Jan. 26, 2026.
With love and countless memories, the family of Ruth Ann Weiss announces her passing on January 22, 2026. Born on September 13, 1937, Ruth lived a life full of spirit, humor, determination, and generosity. She proudly served her country in the United States Armed Forces, an accomplishment she carried with great pride throughout her life.

Ruth was known for her sassy personality and razor-sharp wit-famous for one-liners that could turn a tough moment into laughter or make a room go silent in the best possible way. She stood her ground with confidence yet had a giving heart. She loved canning, baking, sewing, and embroidering, and delighted in sharing the things she made with others. Above all else she loved spending time with her family and close circle of friends.

Ruth is survived by daughters Dawn (Ed) Tilford and Marjie (Lance) Amick, son Aaron Weiss, grandchildren-Samuel, Jacqueline, and Kyle, and four great grandchildren-Collin, Benjamin, Logan, and Kennedy, all of whom she loved immensely and were always at the center of her life.

She is also survived by her sisters Dorothy Dodson, Betty Hook, and Helen Freeseha, and her best friend Karen Kahrs, who remained a treasured presence for the last 50 years of her life.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Robert, and brothers Kenneth and Mark (Pete).

Ruth's legacy of wit, humor and generosity will live on in the memories and countless stories that will be shared with laughter and love for many years to come.

Funeral Service will be held on February 19, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Anthem CCV, 39905 N Gavilan Peak Pkwy, Anthem, Az 85086. Reception will be held after the service, location announced at the service.

Dawn and family, I´m so sorry for your loss. But knowing your mama is in heaven with the Almighty can be comforting, even in the middle of grief.

Although I didn´t know her, a BIG THANK YOU goes out to her for her service in the USAF. Bet that´s where she got her sassiness and whit. I can tell she was a busy mom who loved her family well ... a great blessing for you and an amazing woman!

I´m praying for peace, strength, comfort and sweet memories for you and your family as you navigate the days ahead.

Love ya dear friend!!

I remember when we met You were just discharged from the Army, on your way home to Idaho. You stopped in Detroit so you could see Dotty at her Air Force post, I was home from college on spring break, and Beth was staying with our parents, waiting for the birth of her first child. The three of us formed an immediate bond - we were sisters, and we stayed that way. Good memories. Marilyn (Weiss. Pomerenke) Hamilton
