Dolores Turner Obituary

Dolores Marie Calvo Turner, age 88, resident of Somerville, Tennessee, departed this life Wednesday afternoon, January 31, 2024.

Dolores was born July 1, 1935 in New Madrid, Missouri, the daughter of the late Augustin Calvo and Clara Marie Lamb Calvo. She was a member of St. Philip the Apostle Catholic Church in Somerville and a former member of SPOTS (St. Philip Old Timer's Society). She was a social butterfly who loved swing jazz music and hosting dinner parties. Ms. Turner was involved with charity work including helping families with deceased children. She worked in jewelry sales for years and had many awards for being the top salesperson.

Ms. Turner is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Turner and Tracey Lovejoy (Robert); her son, Robert Turner, Jr.; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Lovejoy and Katherine Lovejoy; and her great-granddaughter, Shanleigh Roberts.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Augustine Calvo, Jr.

Delores was my next-door neighbor for 5 years. She was always kind and thoughtful and I know she is greatly missed by all who knew her.
