I met Denny through Bob Marston in 1957. We had a lot of good times in and around Bernardston, inthe summers of 57 and 58. He always kept in touch. Miss him. David NIMS.

I grew up in North Amherst, not far from the Jones farm. During my childhood I spent as much time as possible at the farm. I was absolutely in love with the beautiful Aryshire cows owned and bred by Denny´s grandmother,Sarah Jones, whom I adored. Too many wonderful memories to offer here. But, I have to bring up the incident of letting Denny´s horse escape from his stable...horrible tragedy to an 11 year old girl. Just to let you know, Denny, that memory has haunted me since that day!
Denny was so handsome and I had a wicked crush on him and as an elementary student
was lucky enough to have Miss Knowlton as a beloved teacher.
RIP Denny, you certainly lived a full and happy life.

Grew up in North Amherst and loved his parents property. They had a stationery dog on a chain and as a young child I spent an inordinate amount of time speaking and trying to coax the dog to come to me; that is until I told my father who was quite friendly with Walter Jones, broke the news to me that the dog wasn't real. Sad we lost someone who was part of Amherst's most recognizable family.

I think of DH Jones as a legend in Amherst. He was known for the kind things he did for his agents and others in need. His Jones Realtors has offered me the opportunity to help many with real estate in our community.
May he RIP and be reunited with his beloved Barbara.
My heartfelt sympathy to Gwen, Jerry and Andy & their familes.

Denny, I love your "Kojack" look!
Was really hoping to bump into you again at Walmart in Fort Meyers, so I could once again beat you to "what´s new"
Always enjoyed our conversations, no doubt you will be tremendously missed by your immediate and extended "Amherst Family".
Condolences to all, you will be missed

It is a sad day to learn that D H has passed. He was such a large part of Amherst when it was the small town of Amherst. D H changed so many lives without knowing it by being so powerful, yet so normal and always being nice to everybody no matter their financial status. I will always remember the advice he gave, the kindness he showed and fairness I felt when I worked with him. I can picture him going through the gates of heaven asking the man "what's new?" Rest in peace D H

RIP Mr. Jones you meant a lot to Amherst! I'll never forget how he gave our football coach money to pay for us a MacDonald's after a big win and it was all you could eat! I was working at the carwash on Rt9 in high school and he came through for a wash. He wanted to give me a tip, which never happened and it was a lot of money at the time. He said "take it" and always was friendly no matter how successful his business became. I have taken that lesson and have always given back to others because I saw how much it really mattered!
