ROSS, Jennie S.

Jennie S. Ross was born on January 21, 1945, to Eddie Morris and Ruby Louise Smith in Atlanta, Georgia. Jennie attended John Hope Elementary School and David T. Howard High School in Atlanta, where she graduated in the Class of 1963.

Jennie worked for the US Postal service where retired after 41 years of service. She was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church under the guidance of Pastor Rev. Thomas G. Ashford, Jr. She served with dedication on the Usher Board, embracing her role as a servant of the ministry. Jennie was also an active member of the David T. Howard High Alumni Class of 1963, as the Treasurer. She was devoted to her responsibilities.

Jennie was married to Ronald Ross, Sr. for 50+ years. During this time, they joined together with two daughters, Tomeka Johnson (Anthony) and Nanette Marr. Joining that union was Ronald Ross, Jr. (Taray) and Gregori Ross (Magda).

Mrs. Ross will be eulogized by Elder Nanette Marr. Public viewing will be held on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at 12:00 PM and 6:00 PM. Service will be held at Murray Brother Funeral Home Chapel, 1199 Utoy Springs Rd. Atlanta, GA 30331 on April 8, 2024 at 11:00 AM, preceded by a 10:00 AM viewing.

Interment, Lincoln Cemetery, 2275 Joseph E. Boone Blvd. NW, Atlanta, GA 30314.
