Raymond P. Drewitz

Greenfield, MA - Raymond Drewitz, 40, of Greenfield, MA passed away peacefully with his wife and family by his side on April 10th 2024 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, MA. Ray grew up in Ashfield, MA and attended Mohawk Regional High School where he ran cross-country and was a two time state champion. Ray loved the outdoors and he was an avid mountaineer whether it was hiking, skiing, rock climbing or ice climbing. He and his wife Danielle enjoyed spending all of their free time in the mountains with their dog Gilly. Ray will always be remembered for his sense of humor, his kind heart and his incredible work ethic. He was loved by so many friends, family members and coworkers.

Ray was predeceased by his mother Margaret Drewitz of Ashfield, MA. He leaves behind his wife, Danielle Rich of Greenfield, his father Stephen Drewitz of Greenfield and his brother Lee Drewitz of Agawam as well as many beloved friends and family members. Calling hours for Ray will be held Monday, April 15, 2024 at Ahearn Funeral Home, 783 Bridge Road, Northampton from 3:00pm-6:00pm and a Memorial Service will be held the following day Tuesday, April 16, 2024 on Ashfield Lake at the town beach at 11:00am. In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to the Northeast Wilderness Trust, 7 State St #302, Montpelier, VT 05602 or the Windham County Humane Society 916 W River Rd #9089, Brattleboro, VT 05301 in Ray's honor in Ray's honor. We, his family and friends, thank you all for your condolences during this difficult time.

Steve, My heart breaks for you. I recall watching Ray in several high school track meets years ago when my son also ran track. Ray was an impressive runner, and I remember your whole family being there to cheer him on. May your memories bring you comfort during this sad time. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
