Russell E. Lent, Sr.

Easthampton, MA - Russell Eugene Lent, Sr. 89, longtime resident of Easthampton, passed away peacefully on Friday April 12, 2024, at his home. Born in Coshocton, Ohio to Roy and Agnes (Moore) Lent, he enlisted in the Air Force as a teenager and served his country with distinction during the Korean War. He earned both the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart while serving as a tail gunner on a B-29 Superfortress. Russell served as Plant Manager of EIS Wire and Cable in South Hadley for many years. He and his wife Deborah enjoyed many road trips over the years, especially to Cape Cod, as well as gardening and spending time in their backyard. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 51 years, Deborah Ruth (Carter) Lent in November of 2023. He is survived by his three children, Russell E. Lent, Jr. of Taylorsville, NC, Jared C. Lent and his wife Kim of Westfield, MA and Devon R. Lent of Holyoke, MA, his brother, Benjamin Stidd of Ravenna, OH, several grandchildren, including Cierra and Jonathan and his wife Christina as well as many great grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife he was also predeceased by his brothers, Frederick, Ronald, John, and Richard Lent. All services will be private for the family.
