Sheila Peletier Obituary

Sheila Peletier

Montague, MA - Sheila (Wallace) Peletier, 84, of Turners Falls Road passed peacefully at home on Friday, May 10, 2024. She was born in St. Albans, VT on March 25, 1940, the daughter of Douglas and Darleen (Doe) Wallace. She was predeceased by her husband of 61 years, Carl Peletier.

Sheila spent her career working as a bookkeeper at Corsiglia Oil Co. in Greenfield and then at Strathmore Paper Co. in Turners Falls. We have fond memories as children visiting her when she worked at Corsiglia's. in Greenfield and having chicken soup from a vending machine followed by a lollipop.

Sheila enjoyed playing cards, shuffleboard, traveling to Vegas and spending time at her beach home in Maine. Above all she cherished time with her family, hosting Thanksgivings which were like family reunions often with 25 plus family members attending and more family and friends visiting later in the day. The day was filled with games and lots of laughter well into the evening.

She leaves behind three daughters, Suzanne Peletier Rogers, Bonnie Peletier and Karla Peletier-Howard; five grandchildren, John E. Kurtyka, Christine Kurtyka, Danielle Robinson, Abigail Desmond and Ethan V. Howard III; nine great grandchildren; two sisters Carol Moltenbrey and Maggie Vidrine; and several nieces and nephews. Sheila was predeceased by a son, Dwight Peletier; a brother, Bruce Wallace; two sisters, Joan Webster and Pamela Kemp.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Tribute Page: http://fundraising.stjude.org/goto/Sheilapeletier

Sue and I are so sorry for the loss of Sheila. I have fond memories of visiting her and Carl, and we experienced at least one of their Thanksgiving extravaganzas. Good and generous people. Our deepest sympathies to Suzanne, Bonnie, Karla, Carol, and Margo and their extended families.

So sorry for your loss. I had such good times with Sheila over the past 25 years when she came to the salon for her hair. We had many laughs. I will miss her. I hope she is dancing on the clouds.
