Alvena Gifford Obituary
Greenfield, MA - Alvena M. Gifford, 69, passed away Thursday May 9, 2024, at Regal Care. She was born August 21, 1954, in Greenfield the daughter of Adrien and Doris (Pratt) Gifford.
Alvena enjoyed life to the fullest. She liked Disney Characters and enjoyed going to Disney on Ice, Hampton Beach, flowers, balloons and horses. She loved Holidays and decorating for them. Alvena also participated in the Special Olympics having won many awards.
She leaves her mother Doris Cutting of Athol, her siblings; Samuel Gifford of Wendell, Doris Hutchingson of Athol, Michael Gifford of Wendell, Rita Sheyda of VA., John Gifford of Orange, Suzanne Sinclair of Athol, Adrian Friebel of NY, Timothy Gifford of NY, Kathleen Nicoletti of Athol, Raymond Gifford of NY and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Liturgy of Chrisian Burial will be held on Wednesday June 5, 2024 at 10AM at Blessed Trinity Parish/Blessed Sacrament Church 221 Federal St. Greenfield. Burial in Highland Cemetery in Millers Falls will be at the convenience of her family.
Memorial contributions may be sent to The United Arc 294 Avenue A., Turners Falls MA, 01376.

Alvena danced at Karen's Dance Studio for several years. She was always such a pleasure to have in class as well as at her recitals!! A beautiful soul, may she rest in peace.

My Condolences to the family,I remember Alvena well,she had a zest for life and lived it her way,she always had a smile and a greeting for me,Alvena loved Disney and so do I,her laugh was infectious and I will always remember her being so happy when riding her bike,you will be missed Alvena may you rest in Eternal Peace,God Bless You.

I remember Alvena from when she lived at The Fahrenheit House.
She was always a joy to spend time with. She was one of those scarce people who found happiness in just living and she spread the good feeling to others.
She also took pride in riding her bicycle when the weather allowed.
The world needs more people with the kind of open heart that she had.
