Yvonne Marley Obituary
Yvonne was a proud member of the Humes High School Class of '56, where she shared classrooms with Elvis Presley-she even got his autograph in her yearbook! If you hung out with Yvonne, you were guaranteed to be grooving to Elvis.
She retired from Kroger after 35 years and was a member of Bartlett Baptist Church. Yvonne was a strong Christian woman who was never afraid to share her testimony.
She would bake up a storm with her famous brownies and cookies, always accompanied by her must-have Coca-Cola and ice cream fix. A true fashionista, she knew her way around a shopping spree.
But above all, Yvonne's heart was all about family. She lived for their traditions and cherished every minute spent together. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her world.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John Roy and Tennie Agnes Nolen; her loving husband of 53 years, James Marley, and her daughter, Rhonda C. Thompson.
Yvonne leaves behind her daughter, Lori Woodruff (Cole) and her sister, Patricia Harwood. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Ashley Niblet (Justin), Krystal Gardner (Nick), Nicki Staples (Stephen), Aaron Thompson (Jeanie), Mallory Carrasquilla, William "Anthony" Carrasquilla, Austin Woodruff (Katelyn), Alaina Woodruff and nine great grandchildren: Jayden, Olivia, James, Palmer, Emberley, Nolen, Rilynn, Zoey and Guyton.
Family will receive friends on Friday, July 19, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum St. Olive Branch, MS 38654. A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 at 12:00 pm at Brantley Funeral Home. Burial will follow at East Laurel Cemetery, 30 E Laurel Rd, Jackson, TN.

Yvonne was one of the sweetest girls at Humes. She was at most of the reunions and helped with many. She was always willing to help in any way she could. I know you will miss her. I'm glad she had so many grand and great children. I know they will miss her. Faye Jamison Bowers, class of 56.
