Willard Mobley Obituary
Buddy was born May 12, 1943 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Willard Faulk Mobley and Velma Louise Tracy Mobley. He graduated from White Station High School in Memphis and served his country in the United States Navy as a Chief Boatswains Mate.
Buddy was employed as a carman with Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad for 33 years before his retirement. He was married April 11, 1975 to Patricia Puckett Mobley and was a member of Somerville Church of Christ. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, cutting the grass and "piddling".
Buddy is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia Mobley of Somerville, TN; four sons, Michael R. Wilson of Sheridan, AR, Mark Wilson (Wendy) of Hernando, MS, Shane Wilson (JenniLyn) of Oakland, TN and Jason Mobley (Kelly) of Hernando, MS; his sister, Wilma Jane Bettison of Pine Bluff, AR; five grandchildren, Ethan Wilson (Hope) of Conway, AR, Erin Deer (Phillip) of Little Rock, AR, Samantha Mobley of Missoula, MT, Dallas Mobley of Hernando, MS and Logan Mobley of Hernando, MS; two great-grandchildren, Ryker Wilson of Conway, AR and Margaret Lyn Deer of Little Rock, AR; and his beloved pet, "Peanut".
A visitation for Buddy will be from 2 to 3 P.M. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 3 P.M. Saturday, July 20, 2024 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Mike Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Ethan Wilson, Jason Mobley, Mark Wilson, Mike Wilson, Rick Bettison and Jeff Bettison.
The family requests that memorials be directed to St. Jude’s Memorial Giving, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
