Mary Brown Obituary

Remembering the vibrant life of Mary DeLois (Lois) Faircloth Brown. Yoyo left us on July 12, 2024 at the age of 79, but she left an indelible mark on all who knew her with her infectious energy and unwavering support for her loved ones. She was our superhero; a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend. Born on October 31,1944 and raised in Lake Providence, La., Yoyo was the second youngest of thirteen children. She met her soulmate, the late Jim Brown in 1961 when he stopped in Hugo's, a restaurant, in Lake Providence. She knew immediately that Jim Brown was the one. Jim and Lois Brown were married for 44 years. Over the years their family grew to include four children: Paige (Jeff) Michael, Jay Brown, Christopher (Danielle) Brown, Jason (Melissa) Brown, eight grandchildren: Hayden Veneklase, Colin, Raegan and Camryn Michael, Zachary and Tyler Brown and Kendall and Hudson Brown, two great-grandchildren: Greyson and Holden Veneklase Yoyo lived life to the fullest and left behind a legacy of love and joy. She was a steadfast presence at her children and grandchildren's ball games always cheering them on with "HER signature enthusiasm". Yoyo loved her LSU Tigers. She was an exceptional and avid bridge player. Her spirit was unbreakable, even after beating cancer at the age of 74. Her impact on those around her is immeasurable. She will be deeply missed but her memory will continue to inspire us all to live life with purpose and passion.
