Rafik Raphael Obituary
Michael
Dr. Rafik M. Raphael, loving husband, caring father and compassionate physician, passed away after a mercifully short fight against an aggressive cancer. He left an indelible mark on the lives of his family, friends and patients and embraced life with vigor and inquisitiveness about the past, present and future. Rafik was a great man and role model for his sons, Allen Raphael (52) and Claude Raphael (51), who followed in his footsteps in practicing medicine. He was adored by his daughters-in-law, Julie Kroviak and Jennifer Price and he clearly approved of his sons' better halves! Rafik was a source of endless joy and happiness for his grandchildren, Joseph, Lola, Caleb and Seth; as well as many grandpups who wagged approvingly upon his arrival. He is survived by his soulmate and love of his life, Lucy Raphael, with whom he ventured from Egypt to the United States in search of the "La Dolce Vita." Rafik is also survived by his brother, Nagui Rouphail; his wife, Maria Rouphail; and their children, Robert and Paul. Rafik will be missed dearly but we know his endearing legacy will be passed down for generations.

Dr. Raphael was the most influential mentor in my career. He was the first physician I worked for, and what I learned from him shaped, not only my career, but my life. He was one of a kind and I am eternally grateful, not only for his mentorship, but for his friendship and the lessons he taught me that reached far beyond the walls of his practice. Rest easy Dr. Raphael, you will never be forgotten.

Thank you all for the kind words. Not a day goes by when I don't think of my Dad... Wanting to call him and tell him how much I miss him. I am so grateful that I had the opportunity to express my love and appreciation for him before his passing... And that he can rest now. I will try my best to honor his legacy by treating others with the same kindness and generosity as he did so effortlessly in his daily life. He savored everything in life... His family, the potential of all people, and always held everyone in the highest regard. He lived long, passed quickly, and lived fully to the very end. You aced it Dad.

We all loved very much our dear uncle Rafik, he was so kind, generous, always full of life and with a positive mind ! We will miss our interesting discussions, about medicine, history, art, philosophywe had such great holidays together!
