Richard Ashley Obituary
Concord, NH - Richard (Dick) Ashley died peacefully on September 9th of natural causes. Dick was born in Lowell, MA on March 18, 1934. He graduated from Lowell Community College and then enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served during the Korean Conflict. During this time, he met his late wife, Sandra, and the two were married in 1957. After the Navy, he went to work for the State of New Hampshire and after a variety of roles, he finished his 30-plus year career as a Deputy Warden of the New Hampshire State Prison.
Dick was a talented carpenter, plumber, electrician and auto mechanic. He renovated his house and assisted countless others with home remodeling, additions and fully built one house from the ground up. He was an avid runner and loved to dance. We know he is dancing now.
Dick is survived by his daughter, Lawrinda (Rindy), Rindy's husband Dave, their 3 adult sons, his son, Scott, Scott's partner, Kwi, his 2 adult daughters, and his son Daryl, Daryl's wife, Mary, their 2 adult sons and adult daughter. He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to join a celebration of life on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Bennett Funeral Home, 209 North Main Street, Concord.

On behalf of Frank and Beverly Jillson's children, we all loved Dick Ashley! He was part of our lives during our years at Wesley United Methodist Church. He was such a nice, nice man doing whatever he could to make our experiences better. From progressive suppers with stops at your house on Loudon Road to taking part in the Philly trips, he was just a full-of-energy guy. Sending our love and sympathy to you all. The Jillson "kids" David, Karen and Kathie.

dick and I worked together frequently at the prison. my wife Dorothy was his secretary for many years there. we moved to florida in 1988 and dick and sandy had a home in Vero beach. we got together frequently for golf and visits. dick was a good friend and we will always remember his friendship. I remember Mr & Mrs Ashley volunteering to help with our church group, many years ago. Our family knew their family starting when I was very young. He was such a nice man! Sending sympathy, love & hugs to the Ashley family.
