My Uncle LaMar had such a warm personality and a childlike exuberance that nobody can copy. Once you met LaMar, you new you would never forget him. He was a superb human being among us all.

Lamar was a terrific policeman, civil servant, and ANG noncommissioned officer. My father´s sister was Lamar´s mother and I knew Lamar from 1940´s, 1950´s family picnics, outings, and visits. Later, in the 1960s, when I was in town, I walked Lamar´s police beat with him in central Dayton. He knew everyone who belonged there and miscreants soon learned to avoid that area. Later during family reunions and visits we talked a lot trading old military stories. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family. The State and the Nation has lost one of their most solid servants and citizens.

Uncle LaMar was one of the great influences in my life; one of the reasons I became an Army MP. Rest in peace, Uncle.

This is the end of an era....Uncle "Mar" was one of the kindest people I know. I have many fond memories of my mom, dad and I getting together with his clan at our Grandma's house. I loved his laugh!
Rest in peace - until we meet again.
Love,
Marilyn

LaMar will be greatly missed. I enjoyed many long talks with him at family reunions. He is such a wonderful person and the best dad to all his kids. He was my father's best friend growing up and his 1st cousin. They did some crazy kid things.
We all loved LaMar.
