Mary Elizabeth Stafford

Mary Elizabeth Martin Stafford, 94, of Mercer, TN passed away on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Christian Care Center in Medina, TN. Mary lived in the Mercer TN community for more than 40 years. She was a member of Maple Springs Baptist Church. She moved to Jackson Oaks Senior Living when she left Mercer. She stayed in touch with many of her friends in Mercer. Mary and JW loved to garden and every year they had lots of tomatoes, squash, cucumbers and other veggies. She would work tirelessly putting those veggies in the freezer or canning them. She was a great cook. Her family always loved going to her house for a delicious dinner. She was a kind and loving Christian woman and was never heard saying anything mean to anyone. She always believed in keeping a clean and neat house. She was a sweet and loving mother and grandmother. Every time the family went to visit her she always said "I Love You". Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James "JW" Stafford, Sr.; her son Michael Stafford, her parents, Wiley G. and Fannie T. Martin; also, numerous siblings, nieces and nephews. She leaves her son, James Stafford Jr (Carolyn), her daughter Dianne Bond (Wilmot); her five grandchildren, Cindy Till (Mike), Kristen Riley (Tony), Kevin Stafford (Ashley), Joseph Stafford and Jason Stafford. She leaves her eight great grandchildren, Austin Curtis (Shelby), Noah Curtis (Gina), Taylor Stafford, Matthew Riley, Jaime Stafford, Haley Riley, Skylar Stafford, and Catherine Stafford. She has one great-great-grandson, Haysen Curtis. This is quite a legacy. She was loved by all her family.
