Dan Hancock Obituary

Dan Christie Hancock, age 72, resident of Memphis, Tennessee, and husband of Eleanor Russell Hancock, departed this life Monday morning, November 11, 2024, in Collierville, Tennessee. Born on March 10, 1952, in Memphis, Dan was the son of the late James Harvey Hancock and Lillias Christie Hancock. He was one of six children: Sabra, Jeanie, Caroline, Marian, and Imrie. On September 27th, 1974, Dan was married to Eleanor Lucille Russell. He was a machinist by trade. He spent his time fishing, hunting, and collecting fishing lures, guns, and antique coins. Dan is survived by his wife, Eleanor; his son, Brad Hancock (Kate) of Collierville; his two daughters, Dr. Christie Hancock Vaughn (Devin) of Chicago, Illinois, and Allison Hancock Rainer (Arsenio) of Memphis; his siblings, Imrie Hancock and Caroline Dickson of Memphis, and Marian Youngblood (Ken) of Knoxville, Tennessee. Dan loved dearly his two grandchildren, Willa Hancock, and Russell Vaughn. Services for Dan Hancock will be in the Fireside Chapel at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Friday, November 15, 2024. Visitation will be from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m. with the service to follow at 11 a.m.
