Ronald Johnson Obituary
Greenfield, MA - Ronald J. Johnson, 89, died on November 22, 2024 after a period of failing health.
He was born in Montague on July 19, 1935 to William Johnson and Mae (Roscoe) Johnson. He grew up on the family farm and attended public schools. He was a member of the Army National Guard in his early years. Ron worked at Florence Casket Company for many decades, not retiring until he was eighty years old.
He married Loretta Griswold in August of 1956. They had five children: Ronald Johnson Jr., Randy Johnson, Rick (Shari) Johnson, Tina (Jeremy) Williams, and Cindy (Mike) Browning. He leaves behind five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
A man of few words, Ron was known for his occasional and unexpected humorous quips.
He was predeceased by three brothers: William, David, and Robert, and a sister Dorothy.
Services will be private and at the discretion of the family.
