Brenda Johnson Obituary

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Brenda Carol Burge Johnson on November 27, 2024 while in the hospital with a serious illness. She lived a life of faith in her Savior the Lord Jesus Christ. We are consoled knowing that she is in Heaven with Her Savior.

She was born in Mayfield, Kentucky December 24, 1946, and graduated from Mayfield High School. She married her husband, Dale Richard Johnson, in June of 1987 and they were married for 37 years. She was devoted to her husband, her son, Eric Dennis Mason (Cathy) and grandson Samuel Eric Mason. She was a loyal friend to many in her church, her profession, neighbors, and others she and her husband shared outside activities with.

Brenda enjoyed family activities, pretty clothes, jewelry and decorating her home. A big part of her life was her rescued four legged ""sons"", Max, Charlee, Arlo, Magoo, Gizmo, and Wallee.

Brenda received her Bachelors of Business Administration from what was then Memphis State University. She worked for forty years as a human resource professional, the last twenty-three with Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation. She retired as the Director of Human Resources at Baptist Hospital Collierville in 2017. She has been a member of Faith Baptist Church, Bartlett for 18 years.

Family and friends will gather on Friday, December 6th from eleven o'clock in the morning until funeral services begin at one o'clock that afternoon all at Faith Baptist Church, 3755 N. Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee 38133. Burial with procession will immediately follow the funeral procession at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Dr. Lee Brand of Faith Baptist Church will lead all the services of the day.

Request that in lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Fayette County Animal Rescue, Shelby County Humane Society, the American Diabetes Foundation, or the American Cancer Society.
