Kenneth Lewis Obituary

Kenneth O. Lewis, 102, died at Kirby Pines Lifecare Community, on Jan. 1, 2025. Ken was born on July 11, 1922 in Golden, CO, the son of Charles W. and Jessie G. Lewis. Shortly after his birth his family moved back to Sweetwater, TX. Ken was a proud graduate of Texas Tech University (then College) and a former pilot in the US Air Force during WWII and the Korean War. He married Jean Sauer Lewis in September 1955, and they were married for 45 years. Ken is survived by two daughters: Katherine Bolt of Roswell, GA and Jane Crabtree (Jeff) of Collierville, TN. He leaves three grandchildren: Stephanie, Joseph (Anna-Lena), and Charles, and four great-grandchildren: Thomas, Braden, Scarlett, and Henry. He is also survived by his sister, Elizabeth Lancaster, of Covington, LA. He was predeceased by his wife, Jean Lewis and his infant son, Charles R. Lewis, as well as his parents and three brothers: William, Jack, and Ray Lewis. He worked as a county agent in Texas for many years, before joining the National Cottonseed Products Association. He retired after more than 30 years in the cotton industry. Ken was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church for over 50 years and loved volunteering with the Nehemiahs. He was also a volunteer with the Collierville Police Department's Special Citizen Volunteer Patrol. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials may be made to Christ the King Lutheran Church, 5296 Park Ave. Memphis, TN 38119.
