Ruth Grow Obituary

Grow, Ruth Anne

Ruth Ann Grow, age 98, of Wellston, OH was called home to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 2, 2025. She was born in Zanesville OH on April 5, 1926 to the late Stephen and Glendora Brown. Her family moved to Dayton, OH where Ruth grew up and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1945. After graduation Ruth attended nursing school at Miami Valley Hospital. In 1947 Ruth was married to Paul Grow. Ruth led a varied and interesting life working as a nurse for several years then as a lab tech at Monsanto until her retirement in 1984. In retirement Ruth served as minister at Unity Church in Chillicothe, OH. Upon her death Ruth was a member of the Christ Church of Jackson, OH. Besides her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by husband Paul Grow, brothers, Charles (Ann) Brown, Donald Brown and Edward (Margaret) Brown, as well as sister, Dorothy Graham. Ruth is survived by brother, Glenn (Gloria) Brown, daughter, Judith Officer, son, Forrest (Lisa) Grow, grandchildren, Tim (Karen) Officer, Tracy (David) Nelson, Cynthia (Gregg) Zelenko, Nick (Amanda) Grow, and Ian Grow, nieces, nephews, seven great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren. Ruth found joy and peace in each day, loving her family and friends with all of her heart. She loved her trips to Minnesota to visit her family, an avid reader, and a loyal servant to God. Although Ruth's physical life on earth has ended, it is also the beginning of an eternal and beautiful journey for her. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2PM at the Christ Church of Jackson on Monday, January 13th, 2025, with Deacon Emeritus Janie Karl officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 1-2PM. In lieu of flowers, Ruth asks to please consider a donation to the Christ Church of Jackson, 150 Portsmouth St, Jackson, Oh 45640 or to the Jackson City Library, 21 Broadway St Jackson, Oh 45640.
