Bradford, VT - Robert R. Pierson died on Thursday January 30, 2025 at the age of 95. Robert (Bob) was born May 20, 1929 to Ralph and Lovina Pierson. The youngest of four children, he spent his entire life in Bradford, VT graduating from Bradford Academy in the class of 1947.

After high school he went to work for John Williams, then to Wirthmore Feeds until he started farming on his own. In 1979 his son David joined him in working at the farm, subsequently becoming Pierson Farm. Bob met the love of his life, Joyce Bowles, at a dance. They were married September 10, 1950 and had had 72 wonderful years together until Joyce died in April of 2022. Bob and Joyce enjoyed dancing and camping (including a trip across country) and socializing with their many friends, Bob was a member of the Bradford Golf Club and played men's night for several years with his son Greg. After retirement in 1992 Bob and Joyce spent 28 wonderful winters in Riverview, Florida where he played golf and horseshoes with other snow birds. In 2019 Bob was named Bradfords Oldest Male Citizen and received "the Bradford cane" in a special ceremony. Bob was fortunate to live the last years of his life at home. On a sunny warm day he could be seen sitting under the maple tree, counting pickup trucks that drove by and was very happy when someone honked their horn at him. Bob rarely missed a Celtics game on tv. He completed many jigsaw puzzles and watched his game shows everyday including Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune. Bob was predeceased by his wife Joyce and by his 3 sisters and their husbands: Pauline (Ed) Powers, Arlene (Mike) Wedge and Betty (Earl) Barrett. Bob is survived by his two sons, Greg (Kerry) Pierson and David (Sara) Pierson. Grandchildren Rachel (David) Bonin, Ali (Chris) Davis, Matthew Pierson and Megan Pierson. Great-Grandchildren, Ethan Davis, Kayleigh Davis, Aubree Davis and Charlotte Bonin. Sister-in-Law Joanne Bowles and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed. There will be a graveside service at a later date.
