Albert Richardson Obituary

Albert Richardson, age 87, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025 in Eads, Tennessee, surrounded by his wife and children. Albert was born August 16, 1937 in Birmingham, Alabama, the son of Albert Sr. and Jennie Richardson.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Richardson. He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 66 years, Mary Wilbanks Richardson; sons, Keith Richardson (Gina) of Bartlett, TN and Wes Richardson (Lisa) of Collierville, TN; daughter, Darla Richardson of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Celleste, Makayla, Wesley, Parker, Abbie and Tanner; and seven great-grandchildren.

Al was retired from DuPont and the Air National Guard. His family moved to Memphis when Al was five, He attended Bruce Elementary, Bellevue Junior High, Memphis Tech and graduated from Columbia Military Academy in Columbia in 1955. Al enlisted in the Army in 1955. His and Mary's community of friends and social life centered around their love for our great Savior Jesus Christ and their church family, first at Raleigh Baptist (now Bartlett Hills) for 20 years and Bellevue Baptist for nearly 40 years. Al was loved by the preschool children he taught in Sunday School for decades. His grandchildren adored their "Pops" who was generous with his resources, time and love. He spent many years coaching his children and their friends in youth league football, baseball and softball. His love for his family was unwavering. Next to his relationship with Jesus Christ, he said his greatest accomplishment and joy was being married to his precious wife, Mary. We can truly say he lived 2 Timothy 4:7 "I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith."

We loved having Mr. Al as part of the Banner Ministry at Bellevue for many years. He was a joy to be around and was a wonderful leader in teaching the younger men concerning the banners and their care and presentation. He will be missed. Praying for Mary and the family.

Dear Mary and family,
So sorry to hear of Al´s passing but take comfort to know he is with Jesus now face to face. A lot of good memories of our neighborhood fellowship days. Love and prayers!
