Jane Elizabeth Gardner

Jane Elizabeth Gardner passed away peacefully in the favorite room of her home January 30, 2025 in Memphis, TN.

Jane was the only daughter of Dr. Thomas P. Gardner (1940-2018) and Lynda T. Ranganathan (1944-2017).

Jane is survived by her beautiful daughter Isabella Gardner of Memphis, her twin brother Dr. Peter T. Gardner with his fianc�, Dr. Misty Y. Allen of Jackson, TN, her brother William Gardner, his wife, Megan and their child Thomas (named after Jane's beloved father) and Rangi Ranganathan now of Mexico.

Jane was given the remarkable gift of self motivation and was an accomplished problem solver in every sense of the word.
She was fearless and determined and possessed the self-confidence necessary to undertake any task or problem head-on, no matter how daunting. Her friends admired her energy, drive, creativity, polish, and fashion sense. Her beautiful homes were a reflection of her easy, elegant style, and creative vision. Jane loved fiercely, cared deeply, and her husky laugh (especially at herself!) was genuine and heartfelt.

She was a lifelong executive with Federal Express Corporation, a trailblazer at FedEx for women in Air Operations, and will be greatly missed by the dozens of close relationships developed there through the years.

Jane was simply a wonderful person. A diligent worker, a devoted mother and a loyal friend in the truest sense to those who ever knew her.

Jane's ashes will be laid to rest in her beloved state of Maine, her birthplace and the home of her most valued memories of time spent with uncles, aunts, cousins and friends she's so dearly loved.



There will be a memorial meeting of friends and family February 21, 2025 from 3:30 to 4:30pm at High Point Funeral Home and Crematorium 3788 Summer Ave. Memphis, TN 38122
