Charles Shive Obituary

Charles S. Shive, Sr., of Memphis, TN, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, surrounded by family members. He was 80 years old. He was born May 29, 1944, in Vicksburg, Mississippi to parents Charles B. Shive, Sr., and Elizabeth Barton of Yazoo City, Ms. He was a graduate of Jett High School in Vicksburg, MS., then served in the United States Air Force before beginning his career working in the Chemical industry at Spencer Chemical in Vicksburg, MS. Charles (aka Charlie) retired in 2009 after working many years in the Chemical Industry which took him to Gonzales, LA, Blytheville, AR., and Memphis, TN. His memory lives on with his loving wife of almost sixty years, Kathy (Campbell), his proud sons Chuck (Jamie) S. Shive, Jr and Tommy M. Shive; devoted daughter Stephanie (Ron) Gulbransen, wonderful grandchildren Keegan (Aryana) Shive, Kaitlyn Shive, Jillian Shive, Melana Simmons, Kylie Simmons, and Cade Simmons. He will be missed by many other family members and numerous friends. In lieu of a formal service, Charlie wanted the family to celebrate together, at a later date, with a cookout, which is something he loved to do, cook and especially spend time with family. Memorial contributions can be made in honor of his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the American Diabetes Association.
