Eddie McNeil Obituary

Mr. Eddie B McNeil, (one of eleven children), was born on January 31, 1939, to the late Willie C and Rosetta (Wright) McNeil of Moscow Tennessee. He completed his earthly journey at the age of 86 on Saturday, February 15, 2025 and ascended to his eternal home. Eddie B was born on a farm and raised in a devout Christian home and realized early in life the need for a personal Savior. In early childhood he was baptized and became a member of Liberty Branch Baptist Church in Moscow, TN under the Pastoral leadership of the late Pastor Willie Watkins. Eddie B was united in holy matrimony on February 27, 1964 to the love of his life, Birdell (Thomas) McNeil. After relocating to Memphis, he became a member of the New Salem Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Frank Ray, Sr. where he served as a deacon, a Sunday School teacher, a member of the Prayer Band and sang with the Male Chorus. Later he united with the New Hope Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Hosie Hopkins. During his time at New Hope, he was a dedicated member who served faithfully as a deacon and sang with the Male Chorus. He was very supportive in Kingdom Building, so he served and supported his Pastor/Church until his health failed. Eddie B was a true man of God who carried the word in his heart and shared it with everyone he met, even on the job. He was as dedicated to spreading the Love of God as he was to his job at Sears where he worked as an automotive repair technician for 54 years. Eddie B was proceeded in death by his parents-Willie C and Rosetta McNeil; two daughters-Felicia Wadley and Linda Faye McNeil; two sisters-Alice McNeil Jones, Willie A McNeil Jones; four brothers-Elder Tommie McNeil, Sammie Lee McNeil, Willie Jackson, Jr., and Charles Edward McNeil; two Godsons-Karl Rivers and Terry Mason. Eddie B leaves in God's care his wife of 61 years-Birdell, four children-Wanda Ann (David) Roberts, Oreland, PA; Pamela Venzant, Memphis, TN; Stephanie (Adrian) Williams, Memphis, TN; Salem "Peaches" Boddie, Memphis, TN; one Goddaughter-Barbarba Davis, Memphis, TN; one brother-Richard H. McNeil, Kokomo, IN; three sisters-Laura Mae McNeil; Bessie Turner; Gloria Jean (Andre), Memphis, TN; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
