John Bischel Obituary

John E. Bischel Age 97, of Bartlett, TN, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, his devoted wife of over 70 years, Eleanor, and his sons, Mark and Mike Bischel. John is survived by his daughter, Colleen Hobbs, his cherished grandchildren, Joseph Mueller, Sierra Mueller, and Amy Kurrelmeyer, and his adored great-grandchildren, Preston and Jackson Mueller. He was a long-time member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, where he was active for over 50 years. John's passion for life was evident to all who knew him. From a young age, he loved being outdoors and was always on the move. His hands were rarely still-whether he was building model airplanes, tinkering with gadgets, or immersing himself in one of his many hobbies. He was a true adventurer, always curious about the world around him, which led to a successful career in the early days of computing. John retired from two companies but continued to work well into his late 60s, driven by his passion for technology. He was always looking at new technologies and loved to share "The Youtube" with his great-grandchildren, watching all kinds of videos on airplanes and so much more. Fishing was one of John's greatest joys, and he made sure to let everyone know far and wide that he was the "Legend of Herb Parsons." Wherever he went, he shared his love for the sport, making friends with everyone he met along the way. His outgoing nature and joyful spirit made him a beloved friend to many. John's zest for life, boundless curiosity, and genuine kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace. Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Society, Tel.
