Virginia Carroll Johnson, 76, of Germantown Tennessee passed away February 24, 2025, Baptist Collierville Hospital. Virginia was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents: Bushrod Branham Chiles and Zulema Yopp, Paternal Grandparents, Nathan Johnson and Henrietta Johnson, Parents, Jordan Clay Johnson Sr. and Ruth Anna Chiles. She is survived by her siblings Jo Anna Johnson of Hardy, AR; Nancy Johnson Shepard; Jordan Clay Johnson Jr. of Valrico, FL; Bruce Chiles Johnson; Patty Zulema Johnson as well as life long friends Kay De Caro, Leonard Langston, Johnny Barzizza, Vallie Jo Bell, Virginia is also survived by dearly loved nieces and nephews Jennifer Johnson, Jordan Johnson, Bushrod Thomas, Nicholas Cupples, Theresa Shepard, Patrick Beckham, Schaefer Beckham, Lily Stegall, and April Stegall. Virginia, affectionately known as "Ginger" by her family and close friends, was a proud graduate of Mable C. Williams (Germantown) High School, Class of '67. She earned a Bachelor of Arts from Memphis State University and was a member of the Golden Key Honor Society. Ginger also held a certificate from Professional Bartending School, was an affiliate Real Estate Broker for the state of Tennessee, and had a certification for National Disaster for Tennessee. She retired from Coors Brewery. Ginger had a deep sense of responsibility towards her family and friends. She loved to travel, eat ice cream, listen to Elvis Presley, and dance. She was beautiful, unpredictable, and funny. We will cherish the time we spent with her. There will be a void in our lives without Ginger. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her. The family suggests Memorial Contributions be made to Humane Society of Memphis. Visitation will be Friday February 28, 2025 5:00pm until 7:00pm with a service on Saturday March 1 at 1:00pm both at Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery 5668 Poplar Ave Memphis, Tn 38119.
