Richard Huffman Obituary

Richard "Mike" Huffman, a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on Monday, February 24th, 2025, surrounded by family.Mike was born on January 20th, 1944, in Noblesville, IN, to Wanda and Dick Huffman. After graduating from Hamilton Heights High School, he enlisted in the United States Air Force, where he proudly served for 12 years, including two tours in Vietnam. It was during his time at Chanute Air Base in Rantoul, IL, in 1969 that he met Sandy and her two sons, Rusty and Mike, who was working there at the time. They married on June 4th, 1971, and together, they welcomed their son John in 1972. In 1985, Mike took on a new career as Vice President of a major retailer, a role that gave him and Sandy the opportunity to travel the world, visiting Europe, Asia, and South America. In 1994, they relocated from California to Olive Branch, MS. Mike retired in the late 90s and enjoyed his time on a 10-acre property he purchased for Sandy, fulfilling her lifelong dream of owning a farm with horses. After settling into retirement, Mike was known for falling asleep every Sunday afternoon while watching NASCAR-a tradition he enjoyed thoroughly. He also loved attending car shows with his son John, where they proudly displayed their beloved T-Bird and Mustang. Mike was preceded in death by his wife, Sandy Huffman; his parents, Dick and Wanda Huffman; and his brother, Tim Huffman. He is survived by his three sons, Rusty Seibring (Melissa), Mike Seibring (Andy), and John Huffman (Connie); two sisters, Kathy and Tanya (Terry); two brothers, Terry and Johnnie (Debbie); two grandchildren, Lucas Seibring (Tiffany) and Savanna Seibring; and three great-grandchildren, Addalyn, Colton, and Sarah-Grace. Mike's memory will forever be cherished by his family and all who knew him.
