Randy Parson Obituary

Randy Vine Parson was born on May 5, 1976, to William Curtis Parson and Eva Mae Savage Parson in Little Rock, Arkansas. He passed away on February 23, 2025 in Memphis, TN. Randy accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Brown Missionary Baptist Church. Later in his adult life, he became a member of New Direction Christian Church. Randy grew up in Memphis, attending Capleville Elementary School, Kirby Middle School, and Kirby High School, where he graduated in 1994. He was an accomplished trumpet player, participating in the Kirby High School Band and the Memphis Youth Symphony Orchestra. Randy also proudly represented his school as a member of the wrestling team. His love for music shaped his youth and stayed with him throughout his life. In the Fall of 1994, Randy attended Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) on a band scholarship, joining the "Band of the Blue" and earned his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering. While at MTSU, Randy joined the Crimson Knights, a non-Greek community service organization and in the Spring of 1996, he became a distinguished member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Eta Gamma Chapter, "Rekindling the Dream of Krimson and Kream." His involvement with Kappa Alpha Psi was a significant part of his college years and exemplified his leadership, brotherhood, and achievement. He earned an Associate of Applied Science in Electrical Engineering at Nashville Tech. Randy's professional career talents were exercised at ThyssenKrupp, Swift Transportation, and lastly FedEx, where he served as IT Technical Team Advisor. His entrepreneurial endeavors throughout the years included R & R Entertainment, CD Dup King, One Shot Photos, Southern Treats Food Truck, and real estate investments. On January 1, 2013, Randy was united in holy matrimony with Robin J. Taylor. To this union, one daughter, Reagan and one son, Ryan were born. He was preceded in death by his sister, Kimberly Denise Parson-White. Randy is survived by his devoted wife, Robin Taylor Parson, and their two children, Reagan Taylor Parson and Ryan Vine Parson. He was a loving son to his mother, Eva Mae Savage Parson, and father, William Curtis (Jackie) Parson, and a cherished brother to his sister, Tracy (Dimitris) Hunt. He was a loving son to his mother-in-law, Billie J. Whitmore, and his parents-in-law, Robert and Abbie Taylor. Randy was also a beloved brother-in-law to Christi Adams, Devin Taylor, and Courtlin Taylor, and a proud uncle to two nieces, two nephews, four great nieces, and one great nephew. He also leaves to cherish his memories two Best Friends/Brothers, Derick Fulson and Royal (Binky) Smith Jr, and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. A visitation for Randy will be held Friday, March 7, 2025 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Brantley Funeral Home, 6875 Cockrum Street, Olive Branch, MS 38654. A celebration of life will occur Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 12:00 PM with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM at Longview Heights Baptist Church, 4501 Goodman Rd, Olive Branch, MS 38654.

Randy was a humble spirit always willing to elevate PEOPLE. He was always willing to lean a helping hand, listening ear,and good knowledge. He was always grinding and providing for FAMILY. He never met a stranger and willing to live life to the fullest. Family and friends when you get sad remember all the blessings and goodness of Randy.
