Patty Swan Obituary

Patricia Ann "Patty" Swan (née Williams) of Germantown passed away on March 19th, 2025 at the age of 69 after a brief – but bravely fought - battle with cancer. Patty was born in Memphis on August 29th, 1955 to Charles (Sr.) and Grace Williams. She graduated from Westwood High School in 1973. She worked for 30 years as a Buyer at Valero and as of her passing, was a Materials Manager for Baptist Memorial Corporate. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Williams Jr. She is survived by a loving family who will forever treasure their memories with her. First and foremost, she leaves her partner of 14 years, Mark Warner, who tirelessly stood by her side these last several months as they fought her illness together. Mark and Patty referred to each other as "the love of [their] life" and certainly embodied this love until the very end. In addition, she is survived by her children, who were the lights of her life – daughters Kimberly Swan McCoy of Orlando, FL; LeAnn Swan and her partner Alex Reynolds of Nashville, TN; son Jeremy Swan and his wife Heather Demetriou Swan of Cincinnati, OH. She also leaves her dearly beloved grandchildren - grandsons Jackson & Taylor McCoy of Orlando and granddaughter Ava Reynolds of Nashville, plus a whole host of "grandkitties" and a "granddog" – she loved all of her grands (both two- and four-legged) and spent as much time with them as she could. Also surviving her is her brother, Steve (Sharon) Williams of Germantown, TN; as well as nieces Carrie (Michael) Schween of Germantown, Natalie Williams of Memphis and nephew Craig Williams of Memphis. Patty loved nothing more than being with her family, especially if it involved being outside on a warm and sunny day. Whether she was traveling the country with Mark in their beautiful camper, spending the day on a lake boating and fishing, or simply hanging out on a patio chatting and being together, Patty found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her family takes comfort in this joy even as they mourn her passing – it is this joy in the simple pleasures they will carry forward in their own lives to honor her memory in the years to come. Services for Patty will be held at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday, March 23rd - there will be a visitation from 12-1pm, with the service and burial immediately following at 1pm. Flowers are welcome, but the family requests anyone interested in an alternative to consider donating in Patty's name to a charity of their choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to Memorial Park Funeral Home and Cemetery, 5668 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee 38119 (901) 767-8930. "Where Memphis comes to remember, since 1924."
