Donald Williams Obituary

Our beloved father, Donald W. Williams (age 87), passed away peacefully at home on February 16, 2025, always with a smile on his face and a clean joke on his mind to share with others. Don was born to Monroe C. and Icey O. Williams on April 29, 1937, in Memphis and had 6 siblings whom he dearly loved. Don met Vivian and married in 1961, and went on to have two children, Brent and Tammy. Together they filled their lives with lots of wonderful and joyful memories, one being of Don always driving the church bus to pick up members that didnt have a way to church. In 1988, Don and Vivian went different roads but remained good friends. In 1989, Suzanne came into Dons life, and they married in 1995. They had the small house with the picket fence and many animals which his daughter, known as Sweet, Sweet to him, would bring down because Tammy knew Suzanne carried the same love for animals as she did. Suzanne was an amazing wife, caretaker, and friend to the end. Don is survived by his wife, Suzanne Williams of Millington, son, Brent Williams of Raleigh, daughter, Tammy and Joe Cartwright of Lakeland, grandsons, Trent Williams of Raleigh, Joshua Cartwright of Lakeland, Jacob Cartwright of Lakeland, Joseph and Jayne Cartwright of Arlington, and one precious great granddaughter, Lyla Faith Cartwright. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered."Therefore, we are buried with him by baptism into death; that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the father, even so we also should walk in newness of life."
