My husband, Bobby Early, absolutely loved Clarence. Bobby played the guitar, but not like Clarence. Clarence used to ask Bobby to play and Bobby always so appreciated Clarence allowing him to play with the astounding Clarence. Bobby would reference it through the years. Bobby passed in 2016 and when I heard Clarence had passed, I hoped that Bobby and Clarence met up with each other there. I know it would have made my dear Bobby so very happy. God bless both their souls.

I just saw this as I was searching for Clarence online. I knew Clarence for years, and was so disappointed to see this. He was a class act as a Human and as a musician. I was the Manager at Bernies Music Center downtown DAYTON I got to know him there and we got together several time to jam a little. Over the years we kept in touch occasionally...God bless his family, so sorry for the loss.

I remember Clarence from Roosevelt High School both in classes and in talent shows. Always one of the nicest people ever. My fav memory is how he encouraged my then boyfriend (later became my husband) to play the guitar and always invited him to join in playing even though Clarence was the musically brilliant one. Bobby Early (my husband) passed 9 years ago and all through the years, he would recall Clarence´s kindness and welcoming spirit. I know that Bobby will be there to greet dear Clarence.

Condolences to family and friends.
Clarence and I go way back to the the 1970's, when we met through a mutual friend/co worker,
Will "cool breeze" Montgomery.
We occasionally jammed at each others home, and had a really nice cultural exchange. Clarence was an extremely talented artist, and I learned as much as I could from him.
We last connected a few years ago at the Levitt concert pavilion in Dayton, with the Ohio players.
Since then we continued to stay in touch by phone and text.
Rest in peace my friend.

Clarence was my schoolmate and mine and my brother's barber. His dad, Enos, and my dad, Leroy Walker, was good friends. I remember when I first met him. He was just learning to play the guitar. My dad would always ask him to play him a song. All he could play at that time was those hunky tunk chords. I would think, "Why doesn't he go somewhere with that stupid guitar." I had no idea he would become a renowned guitarist playing all over the world. I pray that God will comfort and strengthen the Willis family as they bid farewell to Clarence. RIP
