Mary Thornell Obituary
Mary Ann was born and raised in Memphis, where she remained rooted in her community and faith throughout her life. Though she faced personal struggles, she held tightly to her Christian beliefs and found joy and strength in her church. She was a proud member of Renewal Church and cherished the fellowship she found there.
She is survived by her daughters, Ashley (Clark) Weatherly and Brittney (Pendley) Mackey; her brothers, Robert H. Wilkinson Jr. and William F. Wilkinson; and her grandchildren, Taylor Berryman, James Weatherly Jr., Brooke Weatherly, Arthur Gavin Mackey, Alana Mackey, Arthur Micah Mackey, and Stanley Leon Claybourne III.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Robert H. Wilkinson and Gwendolyn Wilkinson.
A visitation will be held at 2:00 p.m., followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m., on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Renewal Church, 5016 Summer Avenue, Memphis, TN 38122.
Mary Ann's life is a reminder that even through hardship, faith and love endure.

Maryann and I hit it off as teenager which we grew to become best friends. She taught me how to wear make up and used to tell me I needed to be more girly, since I was such a tomboy. Been wearing make.up ever since. In school she would be voted most beautiful and me most wittest..When we graduated from high school we were roommates at Morly Garden off of highland. Then she was also my maid of honor when I got married. I was there when our children were born many years we spent together. We had always loved each other but as life has it we lost touch. Which breaks my heart now. Fly like an angel my sweet friend.
