Stella Fields Obituary

Stella Louise Fields was born September 5, 1940 in Wynne, Arkansas to Charles and Irene Gahr, who both preceded her in death, as well as brothers Michael and Kenny. She leaves behind her loving husband of 40 years, John Fields, stepdaughter Nicole Carver (Glenn), grandchildren Jackson and Caroline, and sister Rosie Young, as well as nieces and nephews. Her grandchildren were her whole world. She showered them with love and gifts at every opportunity. Every holiday dinner, she wanted to sit at the kids' table to be with them. Stella worked for WREG News Channel 3 for 38 years as an executive assistant but continued to work there part time in other areas. She loved to shop, and shop she did! She even picked up side jobs at stores she loved like Connie's Shoes, Bombay and Company, and Pottery Barn. Stella was the most generous and selfless person you could meet. She was always thinking of others, especially when out shopping! Her generosity poured into her love of interior design. She had a wonderful eye for decorating and enjoyed updating her friends' homes, as well as her own. That always included Christmas, when she helped so many create the most beautiful Christmas trees and decor. Stella took a lot of pride in her yard and would often work for hours to make it perfect. She endured a lot of health issues during her lifetime, but she faced them bravely and without complaints. Stella will be missed dearly by all. Oh my heart is heavy reading of Stella´s passing. Strange that I was thinking about calling her to go with me to the Vesta Home Show. Knowing how much she loved decorating. We worked together at WREG and roomed together in the 70´s. I am so sorry I waited to late to keep in touch. My heart is so sad. She was such a loving and giving person.

STELLA LOUISE FIELDS

She shopped with joy, she gave with heart,
A master of the giving art.
From Connie´s Shoes to Pottery Barn,
Her love was wrapped in every charm.

She made each room a place to stay,
With sparkle, warmth, and holiday.
At Christmas time, her joy was clear-
She made the season shine each year.

She loved your hand, your steady grace,
For forty years, your safe, sweet place.
The kids´ table? That was her throne-
With grandkids, she was truly home.

John, her love still fills the air,
In every corner, everywhere.
Though words feel small in loss so wide,
She walks with you, still by your side.

For Johnny, with deepest sympathy,
The McCormick Family
