Jerry Brown Paden, age 84, resident of Mason, Tennessee and husband of Evelyn Marie Burrow Paden, departed this life Friday evening, June 6, 2025 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
Jerry was born April 30, 1941 in Booneville, Mississippi, the son of the late E.L. Paden, Sr. and Thelma A. Brown Paden. He attended school in Dennis, Mississippi and was employed as a truck driver with Kroger for many years before his retirement. He was married to Evelyn Marie Burrow Paden in 1964 and was a member of Gallaway First Baptist Church. Jerry enjoyed gardening, tractors and pocket knives. He loved decorating for Christmas and was known as the man with all the Christmas lights.
Mr. Paden is survived by his wife, Evelyn Marie Paden of Mason, TN; two sons, Jerry Lee Paden (Sandra) of Mason, TN and Donnie Newman of Walnut, MS; six grandchildren, Buck Paden, Jeanna Paden, Hannah Hiltner (Jacob), Rebecca Paden, Coston Dollar and Eli Dollar; and two great-grandsons, Logan Paden and Henry Hiltner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, E.L. Paden, Jr. and Billy Paden.
A visitation for Mr. Paden will be from 12 noon until 2 P.M. Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland. Funeral Services will be at 2 P.M. Friday, June 13, 2025 at the Peebles West Funeral Chapel at Oakland with Bro. Ronnie Grunewald, pastor of Gallaway First Baptist Church, officiating. Remarks will be given by Mr. Paden’s son, Jerry Lee Paden. Interment will follow in the Fayette County Memorial Park Cemetery on Highway 64.
Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Jerry L. Paden, Buck Paden, Jacob Hiltner, Coston Dollar, Eli Dollar and Bull Knight.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Gallaway First Baptist Church, 377 Main Street, Gallaway, TN 38036.
