Julia Patricia "Pat" Wingfield

FLORENCE, MA - Julia Patricia "Pat" Wingfield, née McMullin, 83 of Florence, Massachusetts peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday morning, July 8, 2025, while surrounded by her loving family.

Pat was born in Newton, Massachusetts on August 1, 1941, to the late Phillip and Barbara (Connolly) McMullin. Pat was the ninth child in a family of 11 children.

During her early childhood Pat's family settled in Watertown, Massachusetts where she graduated from Watertown High School in 1959. While in high school Pat met the love of her life, Edward "Ed" Wingfield.

Two years after graduating from Watertown High School, Pat married her high school sweetheart, Ed, on June 11, 1961.

After marrying, Pat and Ed lived briefly in Watertown, before moving to Westborough, Massachusetts, where they began to raise their family. In 1974, Pat and Ed moved the growing family into their forever home in Florence.

Pat took joy in raising her four children and absolutely loved being a grandmother. She was happiest around her large family, which included her husband, children, grandchildren, siblings and numerous nieces and nephews. Pat loved all manner of family get-togethers and traveling with her family, enjoying family cruises, and trips to Hawaii and Disney World with her children and grandchildren. She always beamed at the mention of her trip to her mother's birthplace in County Galway, Ireland. Pat deeply connected with her Irish roots, and in later years spent much of her free time learning to speak Irish Gaelic. Pat was also a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox, watching nearly every game of every season and was always thrilled to have a trip to Fenway Park.

Pat is predeceased by the of love her life, husband Ed, and leaves her four children Edward Lee Wingfield, Jr. of Northampton, Suzanne Wingfield Wilga & husband Robert of Northampton, James Allen Wingfield of Northampton, and Patrick Michael Wingfield & wife Elizabeth of South Hadley. She leaves twelve grandchildren, Jenni, Stephanie, and Corey & wife Ebonee Wilga; Abigail (Wingfield) Frey & husband Lukas; Jacob, Zachary, Miranda, Megan, Ayden, Anja, Colton and Charlotte Wingfield. She is also survived by three siblings, sisters Mary Katherine (McMullin) Burns of Naples, Florida, and Carol (McMullin) Mazzola of Groton, Massachusetts, and brother Paul McMullin & wife Linda of Waltham, Massachusetts.
