James Edwards Obituary

James Anthony "Tony" Edwards Jr., 70, of Memphis, TN, passed away on July 6, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on February 24, 1955, in Memphis to James Anthony Edwards Sr. and Ann Quinn Edwards. Tony was the owner of Edwards Telephone and Cable Company and will be remembered as an avid golfer, a diehard Notre Dame fan, and a compassionate friend and family member.

He is survived by his children, James Anthony (Brooke) and Jonathan (Rachel); their mother, Cheryl Edwards Lichterman; his grandchildren, Adrian (12), Rose (8), George (3), and Amelia (8 months); his sister, Donna Woodside (Jeff); his brother, John; and his two nieces and nephew. Tony was preceded in death by his parents and his eldest sister, Denise Pugh.

Tony will be deeply missed by all his family and friends.

A memorial service will be held on July 26, 2025, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, followed by the memorial service at 12:00 PM and a celebration of life afterward.
