Earl Plant

Boscawen, NH - Earl Leander Plant, 95, passed away June 18, 2025.

Earl was born in Boston, MA to Harry and Marion (Webb) Plant on November 14, 1929. While living in Belchertown, MA he graduated from a local trade school.

Earl married Elinor (Heath) on February 11, 1950. They were happily married for over 65 years until her passing in 2015.

Earl worked as a well digger for a short time before becoming a builder and carpenter for most of his life. In Belchertown there are homes he built or renovated throughout the town. He also beautifully reconstructed the stone walls at his 2 previous homes. Upon moving to NH he purchased an old farm and proceeded to rebuild it from the ground up including the huge barn, 90% of it on his own. Earl enjoyed playing music and was in a country band for many years playing the steel guitar. He especially liked jamming with his brother Jay and his grandson Grant. He also enjoyed playing poker, landscape painting, doing puzzles, his cat and spending time with family and friends.

Earl is survived by his daughters Doreen (Edward J) Barkowski and Hollis (Philip) Nepus; grandchildren Edward E Barkowski, Christine (Barkowski) Hartman, Erin (Morneau) Rodriguez, Grant Morneau; great-grandchildren Kyle and Connor Corey and Tiberius Rodriguez along with countless nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by his wife Elinor; their son Steven; brothers Harvey and Everett.

There will be services in Belchertown, MA on September 6, 2025 at 11 AM in the Hope Methodist Church. Then to the South Cemetery in Belchertown. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Granite VNA, Concord, NH or the Humane Society.
