South Strafford, VT - Pamela, remembered for her creative spirit and open heart died peacefully in her daughter's home in Springfield, VT on October 19, 2024.

Pamela Babcock was born on April 4, 1937 in Rutland, Vermont to Melvin and Dorothea Babcock, and began playing flute at six years old. She attended Boston University Sargent College, graduating with a Bachelor of Science. Pam was a physical therapist at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital where her path merged with her beloved Richard "Dick" Whitfield. The two married in June, 1963, embarking on a Maine wilderness honeymoon by bicycle and canoe that led to a loving marriage of sixty years.

Their children, Pamela Telos and Richard Tor were born in Hanover, NH in 1965 and 1968; the family moved to Rowayton, Connecticut and then to Issaquah, Washington where they had abundant gardens and animals, joined Pine Lake Presbyterian Church, and loved camping and sailing on Puget Sound. After ten years back in Hanover, NH, Pam and Dick moved to South Strafford, VT. Pam and Dick were dedicated members of the United Church of Christ and then Universalist Society of Strafford, hosting dinners and shopping at Coburns Store almost every day! Pamela was an accomplished musician on flute, oboe and english horn, performing with the Vermont Philharmonic Orchestra, Montpelier Chamber Orchestra, Dartmouth Symphony and other ensembles in concerts and musicals for decades. Her love of music and people flowed through her life.

Pamela is survived by her children, her sister Charrie Moller and family of Wells and Rutland, VT, cousin Larry Phillips and family of London, England, and dear friends in Vermont and beyond.
