Harvey Dugan Obituary
Harvey Joseph Dugan, beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, fell asleep in death on July 29, 2025, at the age of 43 after a courageous battle with cancer. Harvey's life was marked by unwavering faith, selfless service, and quiet strength that touched the lives of all who knew him.
Harvey was born in Memphis, Tennessee on December 19, 1981, just five minutes after his twin brother, Michael. Harvey graduated from Houston High School in 1999 and later earned double associate's degrees in graphic arts and interactive multimedia production from Southwest Tennessee Community College. Though gifted academically and creatively, his greatest joy came from his spiritual pursuits.
Harvey was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 1995, beginning a life devoted to spiritual service. In September 1999, only months after graduating from high school, he began serving as a regular pioneer, committing himself full-time to the Christian ministry. Over the years, Harvey willingly volunteered many hours to helping others come to know and understand Bible truths. In 2003, he was honored to serve as a delegate at the international convention held in Santiago, Chile. His spiritual progress continued, and in 2006, Harvey was selected to attend the Ministerial Training School. The school provided intensive training in Bible research, public speaking, and congregation care, further equipping Harvey to serve Jehovah with insight and skill. In 2009, he was appointed as a congregation elder. Harvey served the Germantown, Tennessee congregation with humility, warmth, and a deep love for Jehovah and his spiritual family.
Secularly, Harvey applied his creative talents in the legal field, beginning his career at Shapiro & Kirsch in 2003. He remained there until the office closed, and in 2015, he joined Korde & Associates, where he was valued for his work ethic, reliability, and kind demeanor.
Harvey is survived by his mother, Oscie Bonner and his maternal aunts and uncles-Beverly, Laurie, Rejoice, Mark, and Major.
He is further survived by his father, Michael Dugan Sr. (Tina) and his paternal aunts-Shirley, Cynthia, Frankie, Donna, and Cassandra.
He leaves behind his brothers, Michael Dugan Jr. (Nia) and Benjamin Dugan (Shantell) along with his cherished nieces Mya, Kimora, and Gabrielle, and nephew Jaiden. He is also lovingly remembered by a host of cousins and dear friends.
Harvey's life was a testament to faith, compassion, and quiet strength. To know him was to experience unwavering loyalty, gentle encouragement, and deep spiritual conviction. He was a spiritual mentor to many, young and old, always taking the time to share Scriptural insights and provide kind direction. Those who knew Harvey will remember not only his steadfast devotion to Jehovah, but also his thoughtful nature, quick wit, artistic eye, and love for a good meal. A lover of the color purple, he found joy in the small yet meaningful details of life-whether through art, poetry, music, meaningful conversation, or a good strategy game, at which he excelled. His calm presence and enduring love left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege to know him. Harvey ran his race with endurance, faithfully serving Jehovah to the very end.
Special thanks to Jeremy Lipford, Keith Beames, and so many of our Christian brothers and sisters, in and out of town, who provided what we needed in abundance. They never left our side and truly reflected Jehovah's tender care.
