Louis Benoit Obituary
Palmer, MA - Lou passed away suddenly and peacefully on Wednesday morning at Life Care Center in Wilbraham. Living most of his life in Northampton he graduated from St. Michael's High School. After High School, he enlisted and served honorably for four years in the US Navy as an Interior Communications Electrician on board the USS Shenan Doah (AD-26) from '65-'69. A dedicated family man he was married to his wife Patricia for 50 years until her passing. He was a lifelong fan of the Red Sox and Patriots. He also loved cars, retiring from Burke Chevrolet in Northampton. Before that, he worked for many years at Kollmorgen in Northampton.
Lou is preceded in death by his father John F. Benoit in 1999, his Mother Lillian Benoit (Gingras) in 2003, and his Wife Patricia "PJ" Jane Benoit (Russell) in 2018. He is survived by his Brothers Bill Benoit of Goshen and Lenny Benoit and wife Bonnie of Plainsfield. His son Matthew Benoit and his Fiancée Heather of Palmer. His daughter Rebecca LeClair of Hampden. His grandson Russell Benoit, granddaughter Avery LeClair, and step-grandsons Braden and Blake Hartman. As well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
There will be no services per his wishes. Lou will be cremated and his ashes, and those of his wife, will be laid to rest privately at St. Mary's cemetery in Northampton at a later date.

Lou thanks for all you done for caring and never had a bad word to say about anyone in your life! Thank you taken care of my Sister Pat and you will be missed your Brother-in- Law Ed Russell Jr. & Family RIP Lou My condolences to his Family! We should all remember his smile and kindness!
