William Boucher Obituary

William J. "Billy" Boucher

Easthampton, MA - William "Billy" Boucher, 79, of Easthampton, MA, passed away peacefully on July 31, 2025, at Linda Manor in Leeds, MA.

Born in Easthampton on September 14, 1945, Billy was a son of the late Ralph T. and Helen (Modena) Boucher. He is the twin brother of Ralph Boucher. He spent 30 years working in the boiler room at National Felt Company in Easthampton-famously getting fired 50 times, including four times in one day. Most recently, he served as Assistant Manager at Pic's Pub in Holyoke, MA.

Billy was a beloved character in the community, well-known at the Three County Fair and in Saratoga, where he made it to the winner's circle six times. He was perhaps most famous for his unforgettable laugh, once featured in the funhouse at the old Mountain Park amusement park.

He loved his annual summer trip to Saratoga with WoJo, Puddy, Mac, George, and "The Raven." Known for getting around despite never having a license, Billy's adventures were legendary. He was also a proud lifelong member of the Rod & Gun Club and Pulaski Club.

Billy leaves behind many dear friends, including Matt Belanger, Dishwasher Tim, Electric Mike, Cartoonist Bill, Joanne Kraus, Hotdog Man, and his best buddy, Pic. His friends would like to extend special thanks to the staff at Linda Manor, especially Sandra, Debra, and Dante, for their compassionate care.

A Funeral Home Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Calling hours will be held prior to the service from 10:00am to 11:00am.

My dad worked with Billy @ National Felt. I remember Billy well. He stopped in at our house a couple of times & I saw him a few times when my father took me to work to visit. He was so much fun! Definitely an unforgettable guy. My dad said the most enjoyable part of his day was when Billy would come up to his office, have coffee and just sit and chat (sometimes for hours). He was my dad's best friend there. I'm sure they're sitting around, having coffee and joking it up again. Billy will be missed by many and I know I will never forget him

What a wonderful life story! I wish I could be there for calling hours but I'm actually at the ER with my dad. Rest in peace and may his loved ones laugh more than cry.

Billy worked with my mother at National Felt and I went to Maple Street with him. Over the years whenever our paths would cross, he would always ask me how my mother was doing and we'd talk about the our days at school.
Rest in Peace old friend, Easthampton has lost another one of its great CHARACTERS!
